Admin - Devices - Editing
DEVICE MANAGEMENT
Once a device has been added to the platform, you can click on the entry to add information or edit existing details about the device.
EDITING DEVICES
- Select the location in the org tree for which you wish to add a device
- Navigate to the Devices tab
- Click on the device to open
- The following fields are required for a device...

Serial Number - This has to be a unique value in your PlayerLync environment. Although this field is labeled "Serial Number" (and you can use the actual serial number), you can alternatively enter any unique value here, such as an inventory number or organizational asset tag.
Note: Once a device is created and this value has been set, this cannot be changed as it acts as a unique identifier in the database.

Device Label - Though technically not required, a value in this field is very useful from a reporting and viewing perspective looking at the device list of the Devices tab. Along with the Description field, this can be used to list the name of the member or team of people assigned the device. Recommended options for a naming convention here include:
- "Brian Holliday - iPad" or "Ralph Holliday - iPhone"
- "Brian Holliday - iPad" or "Ralph Holliday - iPhone"

- If you wish to fill in the remaining fields, please do so then click SAVE
Note: You can alter devices before or after they are registered, though the serial number cannot be changed. If you made a typo or wish to use a different serial number, you will need to delete this entry and create a new device.
IMPORTANT - If the device you are deleting is registered, the PlayerLync app will stop working on the device until the device is re-registered with the system
